Forested Pork

At Rustic Pastures, the pigs we raise and care for do not experience life indoors or on concrete floors. Instead, they only feel and explore the soft pasture and the natural existence of forest grounds. They are allowed to do the one thing they love most, ROOT! If you are not familiar with the natural instinct of pigs rooting, we recommend researching more on it. Our piglets usually arrive seasonally in the month of May. Throughout our time caring for them, we offer them shelter, water, and food. They also seem to enjoy snacking on the wild plants of the forest and often we’ve found them nestled up under a tree back in the woods where they’ve made their own preferred bed (hog pile if you will). Pigs are indeed fascinating animals.
