Pastured Poultry

We care for our chickens throughout their life span after we receive them as day old chicks. They spend the first 3 weeks of their lives in a brooder. When their feathers have matured and they are able to weather the outdoor elements, they are transitioned to pasture. The chicken tractors (in which they live) are moved every day which allows the chickens to experience the natural offerings of the pasture including green grass, sun, and fresh air. They also receive food and fresh water daily. This farming practice of tractor rotation not only offers benefits for the chickens, but subsequently for ourselves and also for the environment. There is much literature available on the potential benefits one could research if desired. There are many practices and philosophies of raising animals. Our current practice is adopted from others experienced in the field in combination with our own methods.
